We’re looking for Board Members to join
the Mobile Food Market Board of Directors! 

Located in Mi’kma’ki, the Mobile Food Market brings healthy, affordable, high quality foods to Halifax Regional Municipality neighborhoods with limited access. We believe in healthy food, good prices and strong communities.

The Mobile Food Market is seeking passionate and skilled individuals to join our Board of Directors and help shape the future of food access in Nova Scotia.

We Are Looking For Experience In:

• Fund Development and Fundraising

• Communications, Marketing, and Public Relations

• Financial Stewardship and Oversight

• Strategic Partnerships and Community Engagement

While these areas are priorities, we welcome applications from anyone who is passionate about creating equitable access to healthy, affordable food.

About the Board

The Mobile Food Market is governed by a strategic governance board. Board members provide oversight, help set organizational priorities, support long-term sustainability, and ensure the organization remains focused on its mission and strategic goals.

Board Member Expectations

Board members are expected to:

• Attend and actively participate in all Board meetings

• Serve on at least one Board Committee

• Attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM)

• Participate in strategic planning

• Act as ambassadors for the Mobile Food Market

• Contribute skills, expertise, and networks that support our mission

Time Commitment

• Board meetings: Approximately six meetings per year (September–June), typically two hours in length

• Strategic planning: One to two planning sessions annually

• Committee meetings: One to two meetings per month, including during the summer months
